A Bit of Background
Here at St. John the Divine Orphans and Outreach, we are driven by a single goal; to provide a safe family home for our children while teaching them how to live a good life. We began as a church-based outreach because we could not ignore the cries and suffering of the orphans and vulnerable children in our community.

HOME BASED CARE
Home Based Care is dedicated to the premise that children will thrive if they live in their home environment rather than in an institution. At home, children will live under the guardianship of Grannies, relatives, siblings, and foster parents. In this type of model, children are likely to experience a family environment rather than feeling like an orphan; this is because they enjoy living at home while in a traditional, cultured environment.
OUTREACH CENTER
With this initiative, we build upon the success of Home-Based Care by providing a safe place for children to socialize. In the Center, they are provided lunch, emotional support, counseling, and mentoring. Of course, kids love to play so our children enjoy indoor and outdoor games, music, and traditional dance. THE BASICS
With the help of our 40 child-care workers, St. John the Divine Orphans and Outreach provides the basic necessities for our children. Each of our children receives basic health screenings, a safe and secure place to both live and socialize, education and mentoring, shelter, and basic nutrition. TIGER BRANDS INITIATIVES
For over 10 years, Tiger Brands has been supporting impoverished communities, providing food to over 40,000 people across South Africa every month.
